The therapy process typically begins by developing an understanding of the client's presenting concerns as well as assessing her overall psycho-social wellness. We then work together to develop a customized treatment plan that will best address the identified areas.Treatment generally consists of both making practical changes and addressing psychological processes. I help people to identify what's important to them and then, how to get it! I work with people to build acceptance of painful circumstances. Perhaps one of the most important things I do is to is teach people how to engage with their emotions in a healthy way and manage them, so they aren't being swept under the rug, or taking over either!

I specialize in providing evidence-based treatments to my clients. That is, I use interventions that have been found to be effective through scientific research studies such as:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)

I believe that the relationship I have with my clients is the foundation for our work together and essential in achieving successful outcomes. I place a high priority on creating and maintaining good relationships with all of my clients.
